sitting at home making beats…got a call from my moms telling me that my grandfather is sick– damn. I guess its not too serious because he as been sick for a while now but it is to me.
moms told me to stay calm and put all of my emotions in to my sounds–i promised her i would do that.

This joint was gonna be on my upcoming ep BattEry EffEct, but removed it because it didn’t fit with the rest of the album. This record (B.E) is super important to me. In 2001 i started taking raping more seriously, and every since then i wanted to have a solo joint with no features. “The Re-up” is a hard joint…if you ask my homie IZMORE he gon’ tell you its his favorite, but it just didn’t fit–
I met Mr mayhem back in 2005 when myspace was really poppin off. On the real the homie leg has helped me develope into the producer i am!! The nigga don’t rap over wack beats PERIOD, and i knew that if i was ever gonna work wit him or a rapper of his caliber that i was gonna hafta step it up. I sent him soooooo many beats. like– every Friday id send him 5 or 6 joints and he would always reply like– “these are cool, you getting better” and that would be just enough fuel for my fire. This is coming from a cat that at the time had two monster house producers in khrysis and 9th wonderful, so for him to be givin me an ear was dope.
So for about 3 months i sent him beats every week– and he wasnt feeling um.. so i was like fuck it imma just work on my beat game for about a year or 2 then hit him wit a tape. When i did– he hit me back like “o shit” these are dope. He picked a few and the rest is history.
